Passport/Emergency Certificate/ Surrender Certificate/ Police Clearance Certificate
1) Issue / Re-issue of Passports
In compliance with the regulations of International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), only machine-readable printed passports are now to be accepted for international travel.
- Indian Passports are generally issued with a validity of 10 years (except in the case of children up to the age of 15 years where it is issued for a validity of 5 years). Their re-issue thereafter involves the issuance of a new passport.
- Re-issuance of passport will be required if there is achange in any entry printed on the passport/ an entry is to be added on the passport/ insufficient pages in the passport/ in case of passport lost/damaged.
- A new passport can be issued one year before expiry or on expiry of any passport issued for full validity of 10 years (5 years in the case of minors).

- Tatkal Passport Service is not available with the Embassy of India, Ljubljana. The applicant needs to select normal passport service while filling up the application form.
2) Issuance of First Passport to a minor child
It involves two steps:

- Submission of application for issuance of Passport
Link for filling online application: https://embassy.passportindia.gov.in and then visit the Embassy counter to submit the application along with requisite fees, photos and documents.
- Tatkal Passport Service is not available with the Embassy of India, Ljubljana. The applicant needs to select normal passport service while filling up the application form.
3) Issue of Emergency Certificate (EC) (to enable applicant to urgently return to India when passport has been lost, damaged, stolen for wrongly withheld)

In case the existing passport is lost, damaged or stolen or is wrongly withheld by employer and the applicant needs to travel urgently, an Emergency Certificate (EC) may be issued if the consular officer is satisfied of the nature of urgency. An EC can only permit travel back to India.
Documents required: Print out of online application form + Application explaining the circumstances and reasons for urgency + Previous Passport copy or details + Police Report for Lost or stolen Passport (original + photocopy) + Fee.

6) Police Clearance Certificate:

- As per latest guidelines for PCC by the Govt. of India, fresh Police verification will be conducted for every application for PCC by the concerned authorities in India. Mission can issue PCC only after receipt of CLEAR police verification report from India.
- Applicants are requested to apply for the PCC or Passport well in advance enabling us to provide the services timely.
