EPCES has published the updated SEZ Act & Rules

Export Promotion Council for EOUs & SEZs (EPCES) has been set up by Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, to service the export promotional needs of EOUs & SEZs in the country. Over the years, EPCES is playing a pivotal role in bringing all stakeholders from EOUs & SEZ sector & Government on one platform and participating actively to promote EOUs & SEZ sector in India and abroad.

EPCES represents EOU/SEZ Sector which has approx. 7000 operational EOUs/SEZ Unitsand 416 formally approved Special Economic Zones (SEZs) spread all over the country.  EOU/SEZ Sector is a major contributor in India’s export basket.  Exports from only SEZ sector in the year2019-2020 was to the extent of US $111 Billion. EOUs exports during 2018-19 was US $ 12Billion. These units cover major industrial sectors, like textiles garments & yarn, food & agro-products, electronics & software, chemicals, engineering, minerals, granites etc.  The EOU/SEZ sector provides direct employment to over 2.5 million people in the country.

The said book is very useful and provides all the necessary information about Rules & Regulations about setting up of SEZs and SEZ units, benefits and procedural provisions.
