Online talk by Benoy K. Behl and screening of film on Chola Temples titled ?Grandeur of the Lord?

Embassy of India in Ljubljana under Amrit Mahotsav presents an online event in which Benoy K. Behl, India Habitat Centre, will hold a talk followed by film screening ‘Grandeur of the Lord’, at 1430 hrs (Central European Time) or 1800 hrs (Indian Standard Time) on Saturday, 23 July 2022.

In the Chola period, a great and sophisticated culture developed in Tamil Nadu. The temples of the early Chola period were not very large. The purpose was not to inspire awe through size and grandeur. It was to take us to the world of gentleness which can be found within us.

The grace of the sculpted figures and their profoundly peaceful expressions, awaken a sense of the sublime. The figures are fully occupied with the miracle of creation and the sense of stillness which comes from this absorption.
