Online event Ancient Murals of India on 18 December 2021 at 1330 hrs

Embassy of India in Ljubljana under Amrit Mahotsav presents an online event where photographer Benoy K. Behl will hold an illustrated talk on ‘Ancient Murals of India’ on behalf of India Habitat Centre on Saturday, 18 December 2021 at 1330 hrs (CET) or 1800 hrs (IST).

The ancient paintings of India hidden in dark recesses in ancient caves and temples are among the finest traditions of the art of the world. The greatest surviving paintings are at Ajanta. These had not been clearly photographed before. In 1991, art historians around the world commended Behl’s photography for revealing the true colours and details of the Ajanta paintings for the first time.
