India’s urban population is expected to reach 40% by 2030, contributing to 75% of India’s Gross Domestic Product due to rapid urbanization. In order to address the increasing housing requirements of cities in India, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India has initiated a “Global Housing Technology Challenge-India (GHTC – India)”, and invites established international construction technology providers, start-ups, and various other stakeholders to help transform the country’s construction industry.
The challenge GHTC - India seeks to obtain best available innovative construction technologies from across the globe through a unique competitive process. It aims to transform the eco-system of housing construction sector in the country through lighthouse projects built using advanced proven technologies. It will foster the development of domestic technological research, and building platforms for knowledge sharing and networking across the sector.
GHTC-India has been launched on 14th January, 2019 and a Grand Expo-cum-Conference on GHTC-India is being organized at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi during 2nd and 3rd March, 2019. This Global Expo intends to have participation from wide range of stakeholders such as global technology providers, developers, entrepreneurs, researches, from across the world. The Expo will have panel discussions, inspiring talks/sessions, exhibition of prototypes, models, exchange of knowledge.
The Expo shall also provide an unique opportunity for B2B interactions with Indian industry partners and explore further areas of collaboration, signing of MoUs and work in India on housing construction sector.
